Charlotte Jones Applauds as Cowboys, Texans, and NFL Foundation Donate $1.5M to Texas Hill Country Flood Victims

In the wake of the catastrophic flooding that devastated Central Texas over the Fourth of July weekend in 2025, the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and the NFL Foundation have united to provide critical support to affected communities. The three entities collectively pledged $1.5 million to aid recovery efforts in the Texas Hill Country, a region reeling from one of the deadliest natural disasters in the state’s history. Charlotte Jones, the Dallas Cowboys’ Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, and daughter of team owner Jerry Jones, publicly expressed her support for this significant contribution, highlighting the importance of solidarity during this tragic time.

A Devastating Tragedy in Texas

The flash floods, triggered by torrential rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry, overwhelmed the Texas Hill Country, particularly along the Guadalupe River. In just 45 minutes, the river surged to a near-record 29 feet, sweeping away homes, campsites, and infrastructure with little warning. The disaster has claimed at least 70 lives, with Kerr County alone reporting 59 fatalities as of July 6, 2025. Among the most heartbreaking losses were those at Camp Mystic, where 27 campers and counselors perished, and several children remain missing. The death toll is feared to exceed 100 as recovery efforts continue, with hundreds of searchers combing the region for survivors.

A Unified Response from Texas NFL Teams

The Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, Texas’ two NFL franchises, each committed $500,000 to the relief efforts, with the NFL Foundation matching their contributions to reach a total of $1.5 million. The funds are designated to support immediate needs such as rescue operations, temporary housing, food programs, and trauma counseling, as well as long-term recovery projects to help rebuild devastated neighborhoods. The Cowboys partnered with The Salvation Army to deliver essential services, including meals and critical supplies, while the Texans pledged ongoing support for search, rescue, and recovery efforts in the coming weeks.

The NFL’s statement emphasized the unity of its Texas-based teams: “The National Football League’s two Texas-based teams—the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans—are uniting with the NFL Foundation to support the victims’ families and survivors of the heartbreaking floods in central Texas. Together they will contribute $1.5 million to provide both immediate assistance and long-term resources to those most impacted by the catastrophic flooding.”

Charlotte Jones’ Reaction

Charlotte Jones, a prominent figure in the Cowboys’ organization, took to social media to express her support for the joint donation. On Sunday, July 6, 2025, she shared a news report about the $1.5 million contribution on her Instagram story, adding a high-five emoji as a gesture of solidarity and encouragement. Her response underscored the Cowboys’ commitment to their community, reflecting a broader spirit of compassion and action during a time of immense grief. “We’re praying for every family affected,” Charlotte Jones said, reinforcing the organization’s dedication to supporting the recovery process.
