Trump Delivers Bizarre Message to ‘No Kings Day’ Protesters, Mocking Them for “Wasting Hours That Could Earn Them Money” While Accusing Taylor Swift of “Throwing Away Her Fortune”

In one of his most unusual public statements yet, former President Donald Trump delivered a rambling and provocative message aimed directly at organizers and participants of the nationwide “No Kings Day” protests, criticizing them for what he called “a complete waste of time, energy, and money.”

Speaking from his Mar-a-Lago residence during a Saturday morning press appearance, Trump appeared visibly irritated as he addressed the ongoing demonstrations — gatherings that have drawn tens of thousands across several U.S. cities to denounce what protesters describe as his “authoritarian ambitions.”

“People are out there wasting hours they could use to earn an income,” Trump said. “They’re marching around pretending I’m some kind of king — I’m not a king! I work hard. I built things. Meanwhile, they could be at work, making money, doing something useful.”

The former president didn’t stop there. He went on to call out top celebrity supporters of the movement, including Taylor Swift, who recently donated $1 million to the protest organizers to provide food, medical supplies, and safety equipment for demonstrators nationwide.

“You’ve got people like Taylor Swift — nice voice, I’ll give her that — but she’s out here throwing away money on nonsense,” Trump continued. “That money could’ve gone to jobs, schools, veterans. Instead, it’s going to people yelling in the streets. Total waste.”

The statement quickly went viral, spreading across social media platforms within hours of its release. Many viewed Trump’s remarks as tone-deaf, especially given that the No Kings Day movement was largely sparked by his own actions — including his controversial deployment of National Guard units under Title 32 status to monitor protests across the country.

Protest organizers responded sharply, saying Trump’s words only reinforced their message.

“This is exactly why people are marching,” said activist and co-organizer Maya Rivera. “He doesn’t understand that democracy isn’t a waste of time. It’s something we have to defend — even if it costs us a few hours or a paycheck.”

Fans of Taylor Swift also flooded social media in defense of the pop star, with hashtags like #WeStandWithTaylor and #NoKingsDay trending throughout the day. Many noted that Swift’s contribution helped supply protesters with food, water, and protective gear during peaceful demonstrations.

Political analysts called Trump’s message “bizarre” and “self-defeating,” noting that his attempt to dismiss the movement only seemed to energize supporters of the cause.

“For someone who insists he’s not a king,” said Georgetown political analyst Dr. Rachel Monroe, “he certainly spends a lot of time talking like one — ridiculing people for exercising their rights while demanding loyalty from the nation.”

As the No Kings Day protests continued into the evening, chants of “We’re not wasting time — we’re making history!” echoed through city streets nationwide, a direct rebuke to Trump’s claim.

Whether intentional or not, Trump’s bizarre remarks appear to have strengthened the movement’s resolve — and drawn even greater attention to the very protests he tried to discredit.
