China’s President Warns U.S. Must Face Consequences Over Alleged Violation of International Law and UN Charter

China’s president has sharply condemned the United States, saying Washington must face consequences for what Beijing described as serious violations of international law and the United Nations Charter following the alleged kidnapping of Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro.

Global reactions have been mixed. Some U.S. allies have urged restraint and transparency, while others expressed concern that the situation could further destabilize already tense geopolitical relationships. Several countries in the Global South echoed China’s position, warning that powerful nations must not be allowed to act above international law.

As diplomatic pressure mounts, analysts say the dispute could deepen divisions between major world powers and intensify debates over sovereignty, intervention,
