Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were the center of attention in a proposed courtside celebrity storyline surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks’ NBA Cup showdown, as basketball fans witnessed a dramatic contest that ended with Philadelphia securing a 98–93 victory on Friday, October 30, 2026.

The matchup delivered plenty of excitement, with both teams fighting hard in the closing minutes. While the celebrity angle adds another layer of entertainment to the occasion, the action on the court provided its own share of unforgettable moments.

Philadelphia Holds Off New York in Dramatic Finish

The 76ers found a way to overcome a determined Knicks team in a tense finish, earning their second victory over New York this season.

Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia with an impressive 27 points, while Anfernee Simons contributed 21 points. However, LeBron James delivered one of the night’s most important performances, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

James came through when Philadelphia needed him most, hitting a go-ahead fadeaway late in the fourth quarter before helping the Sixers protect their advantage in the closing seconds.

VJ Edgecombe also made a crucial contribution, knocking down a three-pointer that helped Philadelphia create breathing room after New York threatened to take control.

Knicks Fight Back but Fall Short

New York refused to make things easy for the hosts. Jalen Brunson finished with 24 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds.

The Knicks appeared poised to steal the game when Brunson knocked down a three-pointer to give New York a 90–89 lead with approximately 1 minute and 32 seconds remaining.

Philadelphia responded under pressure, with James restoring the lead and Edgecombe providing a crucial basket. The Sixers then held firm to close out the five-point victory.

The result left Philadelphia celebrating another win over the defending NBA champions, while New York was left to reflect on a game that slipped away in the final moments.

A Night Combining Basketball and Celebrity Buzz

The proposed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appearance provides an entertainment-focused angle for the story, bringing together the worlds of celebrity culture and professional basketball.

Swift and Kelce have attracted considerable public attention as a couple, making any reported appearance at a major sporting event a potential talking point for entertainment audiences.

Philadelphia Takes Another Step Forward

Beyond the celebrity storyline, the Sixers’ performance was the night’s defining event. Their ability to respond after Brunson briefly put New York ahead demonstrated their composure in a high-pressure finish.

Maxey’s scoring, Simons’ contribution and James’ late-game execution proved decisive as Philadelphia secured the 98–93 result.

For Knicks supporters, Brunson and Towns provided strong individual performances, but the team’s late push ultimately fell short.

The final score told the story of a tightly contested matchup: Philadelphia found the answers when it mattered most, while New York was left searching for a way to turn another close contest against the Sixers into a victory.
