Kansas City Chiefs confirm White House visit for winning Super Bowl

The Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl with an overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers

ootball-mania hits the White House as president Joe Biden invites the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning stars to the home of the US government after they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in February.

Coach Andy Reid’s men won their third ring in four years and their second consecutive ring when Patrick Mahomes threw the game-ending pass to Mercole Hardman in overtime after the 49ers completely misunderstood the rules and handed the impetus to their rivals.

It seems as though the 81-year-old president, who will defend his status against Donald Trump in November 2024, is a fan of football and has invited the champions to his office to get to know them all a bit better on May 31.

The trip will serve as some welcome news to the Chiefs as they big to get away from the negative press caused by Rashee Rice’s offseason shenanigans as he was involved in a high-speed crash in downtown Dallas.

Will Harrison Butker go?

However, one man who might not be too keen on the idea of the trip would be Harrison Butker after the kicker made it very clear that he’s not a fan of Biden, Democrats or their policies in a recent speech.

He wouldn’t be the first to skip the ceremony either, as in 2012 Matt Birk chose to pass up the chance to meet Barack Obama over his pro-choice attitude to abortion, something the Baltimore Ravens’ center disagreed with.

Butker though, might cut a lonely figure within the Chiefs’ camp as their star tight end, Travis Kelce, made it very clear that he disagrees with what the kicker decided to say when he spoke to a bunch of students.

“I can’t say I agree with the majority of it, or just about any of it,” Kelce said on his New Heights podcast. “Outside of just him loving his family and his kids.
