Congratulations to Jalen Hurts and Bryonna Burrows: Eagles Star and Fiancée Welcome Their First Child

Philadelphia, PA – March 19, 2025
The City of Brotherly Love has a new reason to cheer as Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and his longtime fiancée, Bryonna Burrows, welcomed their first child into the world earlier this week. The couple, whose love story spans over a decade from their high school days to NFL stardom, announced the joyous news with a heartfelt statement: “This is our greatest blessing yet. We’re overjoyed to start this new chapter together as a family.”

Hurts, 26, and Burrows, also 26, have been a fixture in each other’s lives since meeting as teenagers in Houston, Texas. Their bond grew stronger through college—Hurts at Alabama and Oklahoma, Burrows at Alabama—and has flourished amidst Hurts’ meteoric rise as one of the NFL’s brightest stars. Now, the couple has added a new title to their résumé: parents.

The baby’s arrival was shared via a touching Instagram post late Tuesday night, featuring a black-and-white photo of Hurts cradling the newborn while Burrows smiled proudly beside him. The caption simply read, “Our little MVP. 3/16/25.” While the couple has not yet revealed the child’s name or gender, sources close to them say they are “over the moon” and savoring every moment of this milestone.

“Jalen and Bry have always been about family,” a friend of the couple told us. “This baby is the culmination of their journey together so far, and they’re just soaking it all in.” Known for his grounded demeanor and relentless work ethic, Hurts has often credited Burrows as his rock, supporting him through the highs of leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance and the lows of a demanding NFL career.

Burrows, a successful professional in her own right with a degree from the University of Alabama and a career in business analytics, has kept a relatively low profile despite her high-profile romance. Yet, her presence at Eagles games—cheering from the stands in Hurts’ No. 1 jersey—has made her a beloved figure among Philly fans. Now, as a new mom, she’s stepping into a role she’s long dreamed of, according to those who know her best.

The couple’s statement continued, “Family is everything, and this moment means the world to us. We’re grateful for all the love and support from our friends, fans, and teammates.” The Eagles organization quickly joined the celebration, with head coach Nick Sirianni posting on X: “Congrats to Jalen and Bryonna! A new little Eagle in the nest—proud of you both!”

Teammates echoed the sentiment. Eagles center Jason Kelce, now a beloved broadcaster, quipped on his podcast, “Jalen’s been calling plays on the field, but now he’s got a whole new game plan at home. Congrats to him and Bryonna—they’re gonna crush it as parents.” Wide receiver DeVonta Smith added, “Jalen’s my QB, but he’s about to be the MVP of diaper duty. So happy for them.”

Fans flooded social media with well-wishes, with #HurtsFamily trending on X by Wednesday morning. “Jalen Hurts is a king on and off the field—congrats to him and Bryonna on their baby!” one fan wrote. Another added, “Philly’s QB1 just became Dad1. What a beautiful moment for them.”

While Hurts is known for keeping his personal life private, he’s hinted at his excitement for fatherhood in past interviews. Speaking to reporters last season, he said, “Family’s my foundation. One day, I want to build that with Bry.” That day has arrived, and the couple’s journey from high school sweethearts to proud parents has captured hearts far beyond Philadelphia.

As the Eagles prepare for their next game, Hurts is expected to take a brief break to focus on his new family, with backup QB Kenny Pickett stepping in for practice reps. “Jalen’s earned this time,” Sirianni said. “He’s a leader on this team, but right now, his most important huddle is at home.”

For now, Jalen Hurts and Bryonna Burrows are basking in the glow of their newest teammate—a tiny bundle who’s already stolen the show. Congratulations to the happy family on this touchdown of a lifetime!
