Wendy Williams has been placed under involuntary hospitalization following a recent psychiatric evaluation that determined she is mentally ill and poses a danger to herself and others. A judge has ruled that the former talk show host must remain in a court-mandated treatment facility, where she will receive medical and psychiatric care.

Sources close to the situation report that Williams, 59, underwent a medical assessment after exhibiting concerning behavior in recent weeks. Experts determined that her mental health condition had deteriorated to a point where she could no longer care for herself safely. This prompted legal intervention, with the court ruling that she be placed under psychiatric care to prevent potential harm.
A spokesperson for Williams’ legal guardian released a statement following the ruling:
“Wendy’s health and well-being remain our top priority. This decision was made to ensure she receives the care and support she needs at this time. We ask for privacy and understanding as she focuses on her recovery.”
History of Health Struggles
Williams, best known for her long-running daytime talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, has faced publicized battles with health and personal issues in recent years. She previously stepped away from television due to complications from Graves’ disease and lymphedema, and in 2022, she was placed under financial guardianship after concerns arose regarding her ability to manage her affairs.
Her struggles with addiction have also been well-documented, with Williams admitting to past issues with substance abuse. In 2019, she revealed she had been living in a sober house, and in 2023, reports surfaced that she had checked into a wellness facility
