Hoda Kotb Announces Her Departure from ‘Today’ After 26 Years with NBC

In a surprising announcement that has left fans and colleagues alike reflecting on an era of morning television, Hoda Kotb revealed she is stepping down from her role on NBC’s ‘Today’ show after a remarkable 26-year tenure with the network. This news marks the end of an era for the veteran broadcaster who has become a beloved figure on morning television.

Kotb, known for her warmth, intelligence, and genuine rapport with both guests and viewers, joined NBC News in 1998 as a correspondent for “Dateline NBC.” Her impactful storytelling and engaging personality quickly established her as a respected journalist, propelling her career forward and leading to her position at ‘Today’.

During her time at ‘Today’, Kotb has worn many hats, transitioning from co-hosting the fourth hour, alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and later Jenna Bush Hager, to becoming a staple on the main desk. In 2018, Kotb was announced as co-anchor of the show’s principal morning segment, following the departure of Matt Lauer.
