Jason Kelce Gives Interesting Comments On His NFL Future As Retirement Looms
Philadelphia center Jason Kelce has offered some interesting comments on his NFL future, and let’s just say that Eagles fans should be a bit encouraged by it.
After the Eagles’ embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round, it was reported that Kelce had informed teammates that he was planning to retire. Fast forward two weeks after Super Bowl 58, however, and the future Hall of Fame center still hasn’t made a final call.
Speaking with actors Dana Carvey and David Spade on the “Superfly” podcast (h/t Bryan Fonseca of the New York Post), Kelce addressed the ongoing retirement speculation. During the conversation, Kelce revealed that he’s “staying in shape” in case he ends up coming back for another year.
“I don’t know. I’m trying to figure it out right now. Right now, exploring different opportunities if I end up retiring,” Kelce said. “Still working out and staying in shape if I end up playing again.”
Kelce was a sixth-round draft choice (191st overall) by the Eagles back in 2011. Fast forward more than a decade later, and you have a future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee with seven Pro Bowls, six First-team All-Pro nods and a Super Bowl 52 championship ring under his belt.
Regardless of what he decides, Kelce’s spot in Canton is a clear-cut lock.
