Jimmy Barnes has given fans a health update after being rushed to hospital in ‘unbearable pain’ and cancelling his tour amid a new health scare following open-heart surgery.

The Australian rock legend took to social media to reassure fans that he’s on the mend, but still has a long road to recovery ahead.

‘I wanted to let everyone know that I’m doing okay, but I’m not out of the woods yet,’ Barnes wrote. ‘The pain I’ve been experiencing has been unbearable at times, but I’m working with my medical team to get it under control.

Barnes was rushed to hospital last week after experiencing severe chest pain, sparking fears among fans that he may have been suffering a heart attack.

However, the 65-year-old singer has since revealed that the pain was related to a complication from his recent open-heart surgery.

‘I know I’ve been through a lot health-wise in recent years, but I’m determined to get back on stage and do what I love,’ Barnes said.

Fans have rallied around the singer, sending messages of support and well wishes on social media.

‘Get well soon, Jimmy!’ wrote one fan. ‘We’re all thinking of you and sending love.’

Barnes’ tour, which was scheduled to kick off next month, has been cancelled indefinitely as he focuses on his recovery.
