Rapper Lil Wayne has finally spoken out about being overlooked for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show, and his words are raw and emotional.
In an exclusive interview with XXL Magazine, Weezy revealed that being snubbed for the high-profile performance was a devastating blow. “It broke me, man,” he admitted. “I’ve been grinding for over two decades, putting out hit after hit, and to be overlooked like that… it hurt.”
Lil Wayne had been a top contender for the Halftime show, with fans and critics alike rallying behind him. But when the NFL announced the headlining act, his name was conspicuously absent.
“I thought I was a shoo-in,” he said, shaking his head. “I’ve got the catalog, the energy, the fanbase… everything. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be.”
