Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Travis Kelce at Morgan Wallen Concert
An Illinois man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes during a Morgan Wallen concert in Kansas City, Mo.
On Friday. Aug. 2 the Kansas City Chiefs players and their teammate, Chris Jones, walked out with Wallen at the start of the country singer’s concert at Arrowhead Stadium.
Video of the moment quickly spread online, with some Taylor Swift fans slamming Kelce’s association with Wallen. However, one concertgoer allegedly wasn’t happy about the Chiefs quarterback and tight end’s attendance, either.
The man, Aaron Brown, Winchester, Ill., was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot two individuals, according to a news release from the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office. Brown now faces a felony charge of making a terrorist threat; his bail was set at $15,000.
Kansas City officers were monitoring safety threats ahead of Wallen’s concert when they came across Brown’s alleged threat on X (formerly Twitter) against “members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization” who were “present at the event.”
It read, per the Daily Mail: “Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted] I’ll take the f–kin shot. F–k em!”
Mahomes attended the concert with his wife, Brittany, who posted a photo of them via Instagram after the event.
Police reportedly called Brown, who confirmed he was in the stadium for the concert, and the show was delayed for 40 minutes while he was located.
According to police documents, Brown deleted the X post and told officers, “it was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake,” the Daily Mail reported.
As of writing, neither Kelce nor Mahomes has publicly commented on the incident.
