Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday after 13 seasons of professional football and was unable to hold back tears throughout the entire nearly hour-long speech.
NFL stars such as Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and free agent quarterback Russell Wilson instantly took to X (Twitter) to congratulate the soon-to-be Hall of Fame center for an incredible run.
NFL legends such as Troy Aikman and JJ Watt also paid respect to Kelce via social media, each one saying it was an “honor” to watch him play.
“Just go ahead and get the gold jacket fitted right now,” Watt tweeted. “Congrats on one hell of a career. A pleasure and an honor to share the field with you.”
“Congratulations Jason Kelce on an incredible 13-year career,” Aikman wrote. “Much respect for the way you did it week after week, year after year. It was an honor to watch you play.”
