Patrick Mahomes Confident, States Tactics About Winning Super Bowl
To be the best quarterback in the NFL, a player needs limitless confidence, and on Tuesday, Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, shared a post that showed how much he believes in himself and the Kansas City Chiefs.
“I decided we are going to win the Super Bowl,” Mahomes texted the group, garnering multiple “exclamation mark” reactions.Mahomes followed up the text three weeks later: “I’ll see yall in Vegas I’m not done.”
This guy never stopped believing in his team,” Brittany wrote. “Through the ups and downs and all the doubters, never once did he doubt this team. He is a true leader and a team player. He continued to ask himself what he could do better to lead this team to the Super Bowl. I saw so much behind the scenes that I will forever be in awe of you as a person and a football player! You my guy deserved this!!! I love you and am always and forever proud of you.”
Newsweek reached out to Brittany requesting further comment via social media on Wednesday.Patrick finished Sunday’s overtime thriller 34-for-46 as a passer with 333 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 66 yards on nine carries and capped his performance with a 3-yard pass to Mecole Hardman for a championship-winning touchdown.
The Chiefs had an up-and-down season. After starting the year 7-2, a loss to the Denver Broncos on October 29 started a 3-5 stretch that dropped them out of contention for the top seed in the AFC. The Chiefs rallied to beat the Bengals and Chargers to close their regular season but entered the playoffs with plenty of question marks, especially on offense. After Sunday’s win, Mahomes said the struggles “1,000 percent” made the Super Bowl victory sweeter.
