Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Terry Bradshaw Comparison; says it’s a Different Era, i’m The GOAT
Terry Bradshaw is considered as one of the GOATs.
The conversation of the GOAT QB in NFL history has always had a few names that are thrown in the mix, with the legendary Terry Bradshaw amongst those who are considered the best in the league’s history despite playing in a whole different era.
Bradshaw led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl championships in the ’70s (1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979) and won SB MVP in two of them, having all the right to be considered in the GOAT conversation among others like Dan Marino, John Elway, Tom Brady or Joe Montana.
Patrick Mahomes is also earning the right to be considered one of the greatest ever, if not the best. On The Rich Eisen Show, Terry Bradshaw was asked to compare himself with Mahomes, who just won his third Super Bowl, saying that it’s really different to compare eras in his opinion.
If Mahomes played for Pittsburgh, his numbers wouldn’t be any different. Cause you know when you average 19 passes a game, they’re not going to be different. They do 19 passes in the first two series now. Just a different era, sometimes I say to my wife, Tammy. ‘You know, I wish I had played in this era so that I could have proven that I’m not a 52% completion guy.’ I’m much higher than I would be with the offenses that they run. Then everybody would say, ‘Oh man, he was so good.’ Then I say, ‘Woah, woah, I am okay where I am.

When asked about his ‘top QBs of all time,’ Marino named Joe Montana, John Elway, and Jim Kelly without hesitation in his ‘Mount Rushmore’. One would assume Tom Brady has to be fourth, but Marino left the door open for others.
“And Patrick Mahomes, he’s gonna be considered one of the best ever, too. And you got Tom Brady; you got a lot of guys. There’s a lot to pick from there.”
