Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says he was just as surprised as fans when he learned that Taylor Swift would be appearing on tonight’s New Heights podcast — and the news didn’t come from co-host (and teammate) Travis Kelce. Instead, it came during a casual phone call to his wife, Brittany Mahomes.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the episode’s release, Mahomes laughed as he recalled the moment.

“I was just calling Brittany about something totally unrelated,” he said. “She goes, ‘Oh, by the way, did you know Taylor’s going to be on New Heights tonight?’ That’s how I found out. I didn’t even hear it from Trav.”
