Captain Ian Farquhar, who was a close friend of the king, has died.
He was 78 years old.
Ian had known the King and Queen Camilla for a long time. He had also been a rider for the Queen Mother.
Besides being a great hunter and horseman, he was also in the Queen’s Own Hussars.
Now the King has to deal with yet another blow, since he already has cancer. Lord Rothschild passed away last week. He was 87 years old.
Rose Farquhar, Ian’s daughter, was with Prince William during his gap year in 2000. They had sweet picnics in the countryside of Gloucestershire.Ian had been renting a farmhouse on the Gloucestershire estate of King’s Highgrove for a long time.

A lot of people who went hunting loved and respected him as “Captain.” He was friendly, helpful, and always ready to give great, new ideas to anyone who asked.
He was very funny, and anyone who was lucky enough to be with him and hear about his thrilling and different life in the army and as a hunter will always remember those times.”
Captain loved his family, dogs, and hounds. We know that up there, a whole pack of dogs will be waiting for him, eager to see him again.
“He loved his country and was a gentleman to boot. He will be sorely missed.”
