Russia Warns US of World War III Risks if Ukraine Strikes Deep into Russian Territory
In a stark warning, Russia has cautioned the United States that allowing Ukraine to launch strikes deep into Russian territory could spark World War III. The stern message from Moscow comes as tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate.
“You are playing with fire,” declared Russian Ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov. “If you allow Ukraine to attack Russia, you will be inviting a global catastrophe.”
The warning follows recent incidents of Ukrainian forces striking Russian targets, including a controversial drone attack on a Russian oil depot. Russia has accused the US of providing Ukraine with weapons and intelligence support, which Washington denies.
Antonov emphasized that Russia will not hesitate to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. “We will take all necessary measures to protect our country and our people,” he stressed.
The US has walked a fine line in supporting Ukraine while avoiding direct confrontation with Russia. However, Moscow’s warning raises the stakes and underscores the dangers of miscalculation.
