Taylor Swift Condemns “Horrific” ICE Raid in Chicago, Calls on President Trump to Act After Agents Reportedly Zip-Tied Children During Midnight Operation

Chicago, IL — October 4, 2025

Global pop superstar Taylor Swift has issued a powerful public statement condemning what she described as a “nightmare unfolding in America,” after disturbing reports emerged of ICE agents descending from Blackhawk helicopters and detaining children during a midnight raid in Chicago.

Eyewitnesses and local activists allege that agents stormed multiple residential buildings in the city’s South Side, zip-tying children—some reportedly without clothing—after dragging them from their beds. Videos circulating on social media show terrified families being led out of apartment complexes as helicopters hovered overhead.

“Children should never wake up to the sound of helicopters and armed men,” Swift wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “This is cruelty disguised as law enforcement. Mr. President, you cannot stay silent while this happens in your country.”

The raid, which ICE officials have yet to fully comment on, was reportedly part of a “targeted enforcement operation.” However, details remain unclear, and the agency has faced mounting criticism for alleged excessive force and traumatizing minors.
