Taylor Swift Donates $5 Million to Red Cross to Support Hurricane Melissa Victims in Jamaica with Food, Water, and Hygiene Supplies

Kingston, Jamaica — Global superstar Taylor Swift has donated $5 million to the Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Melissa, which devastated parts of Jamaica earlier this week. The donation will help provide non-perishable food, bottled water, and hygiene products to thousands of families displaced or affected by the storm.

According to Red Cross officials, the contribution will be used to deliver emergency relief supplies to the hardest-hit communities, many of which remain without electricity, clean water, and access to basic necessities. The organization praised Swift’s generosity, calling it a “timely and life-saving act of compassion.”

“Taylor Swift’s support comes at a moment when so many families are struggling to recover,” said Angela Roberts, spokesperson for the Jamaican Red Cross. “Her donation will go directly toward meeting urgent needs — food, water, and essential hygiene kits for women and children.”

Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica’s southern coast with powerful winds and torrential rains, causing widespread flooding, infrastructure damage, and displacement of residents. Relief efforts have been ongoing, but resources have been stretched thin amid the growing humanitarian needs.

Swift, known for her philanthropy and swift response to global crises, shared in a brief statement that her heart is “with everyone in Jamaica affected by this terrible storm.” She encouraged her fans to support ongoing recovery efforts and to “stand with those who have lost so much.”

This is not the first time Swift has contributed to disaster relief. In recent years, she has donated millions to victims of hurricanes, wildfires, and floods across the United States and abroad — solidifying her reputation as one of the entertainment industry’s most generous and socially conscious figures.

As aid begins reaching storm-battered communities, Red Cross officials say Swift’s donation will play a major role in stabilizing relief operations and providing hope to those rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
