Taylor Swift fans have slammed Time Magazine and called for the photographers to be ‘fired’ after the popstar was named Person of the Year and featured in a series of snaps that ‘don’t do her justice.’ In an interview to mark the occasion, the 33-year-old megastar – who has been engulfed in a whirlwind romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce -opened up about her career and Kim Kardashian as well as her boyfriend.

And while many fans have been left swooning over the songstress’s cover, others have questioned why the magazine would do such a ‘disservice’ to Taylor by ‘washing her out’ in the photos. Swifties have now rallied against Time Magazine and labeled the snaps of the singer showing off her signature red lip and donning a sequined body suit ‘basic’ and the ‘worst’ – adding that while Taylor achieved Person of the Year, Time didn’t give her ‘cover of the year.’

Time Magazine released a slew of images of the artist posing up. In one photo, the Shake It Off hitmaker donned a black leotard and held her beloved cat, Benjamin Button. In another, the singer showed off her blue eyes as she looked up while donning a denim jacket. A third saw her being the definition of class as she posed in a business suit. And while fans couldn’t take their eyes off the singer in the majority of the photos, there was one snap that they claimed they could have done without.

A picture of the singer sporting a grey sequined bodysuit and has infuriated fans who have branded it ‘basic.’ After the image was shared on Instagram, Swifties flooded the comments section, and directed their anger towards the magazine and photographers Inez & Vinoodh. One person said: ‘We love miss Swift and it’s well deserved…. but with all respect please fire this photographer.’ Another user added: ‘Definitely not cover of the year though, there are better photos out there.’ Someone else wrote: ‘I’m sorry but y’all did her so dirty in this photo. That top is hideous and this photo washes her out, who directed this shoot?’

‘That picture doesn’t do her justice,’ another person commented. One user added: ‘These are the most basic photos ever.’ A sixth person wrote: ‘The worst shoot cover that I ever saw, are you serious?’ And while many people were thrown off by the snap, others gushed over the singer’s beauty. The pop superstar, whose massive 66-date tour earned her billionaire status this year, beat Vladimir Putin, Barbie, King Charles and Sam Altman, among others shortlisted for the honor.

Last year, the honor was bestowed upon Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the ‘Spirit of Ukraine’ after the Russia-Ukraine conflict dominated headlines. ‘This is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been… It feels like the breakthrough moment of my career, happening at 33,’ Swift said in an interview for the cover of the magazine in which she’s described as a ‘master storyteller of the modern era.’
