As the torch was relayed across the city, 12 Paralympic torches crisscrossed the French capital, bringing 500,000 spectators out into the streets ². The route was designed to shine a light on each district of Paris, and nearly 200 relay runners took turns carrying the torches around the city ². The Paralympic Torch Relay was sponsored by Coca-Cola, Banque Populaire, and Caisse d’Epargne, and it was a memorable celebration that brought the city together ².
